Apple announced a 5nanometer-process ARM SoC called Apple M1.
It has:
8-core CPU (4 high-performance with 12MB L2 cache and 4 high-efficiency with 4MB L2 cache)
8-core GPU (up to 24,576 concurrent thread, 2.6 teraflops)
16-core Neural Engine
Secure Enclave
Thunderbolt/USB 4 controller
MacBook Air
A new MacBook installing M1 chip has up to 3.5x faster CPU and up to 5x faster GPU.
About Neural Engine, it's up to 9x faster ML performance compared to previous MacBook Air. SSD is 2x faster. It doesn't have a fan, therefore, is completely silent.
Battely life is now 15 hours wireless web brawsing and 18 hour video playback, 6 hours longer than previous MacBook Air.
New MacBook Air is available starting Nov 17 from $999.

A new MacBook Pro 13' installing M1 chip has up to 2.8x faster CPU and up to 5x faster GPU. About Neural Engine, it's up to 11x faster ML performance compared to previous MacBook Pro.
